The property located in Bożejów, which is now part of Radomierowice in Opole County, is not only an important landmark on the region’s tourist map but also an excellent example of architecture coexisting harmoniously with the surrounding nature.

The history of Bożejów Castle dates back to the 19th century when it was built as a hunting residence. The original owners of these lands were the von Eickstedt family, known for their care in developing their estates and their involvement in local community life. The building was designed in the Neo-Gothic style, which at that time symbolized prestige and an attachment to romantic ideals. The castle served as a center for social and hunting life. Numerous hunts were organized here, attended by prominent personalities, as well as balls and receptions held in the stylish interiors of the residence. Around 1911, the building underwent extensive modernization overseen by the renowned architect Richard Mohr from Wrocław.

After World War II, the castle was nationalized and served various functional purposes for many years, which unfortunately contributed to its gradual deterioration. Between 2014 and 2018, the building was thoroughly renovated by the Garack family, preserving its unique hunting atmosphere.

According to local legends, during the war, part of the von Eickstedt estate was hidden in the castle’s cellars. A servant supposedly sealed off the entrance to the deepest cellar but soon disappeared, taking the secret with him. After the war, treasure hunts were unsuccessful, and locals claim that on stormy nights you can hear knocking from underground—as if someone is still trying to escape. Is it the ghost of a guardian watching over the hidden estate, or does the castle still conceal an unsolved mystery?

Currently, the property offers accommodations in high-class apartments. It features a restaurant serving local specialties and game cuisine, as well as a comprehensive SPA area. Located in the basement of the main building, the SPA offers guests a dry sauna, a Russian banya, a hydromassage jacuzzi, and a fully equipped fitness room, providing comfort and relaxation at the highest level.

Bożejów Castle is a member of the Opole Bifyj Culinary Trail, guaranteeing exceptional gastronomic experiences inspired by the traditional cuisine of the region. The castle’s restaurant preserves local recipes and maintains the authentic character of the dishes served.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are kayaking trips along the Stobrawa and Budkowiczanka river valleys and numerous bike trails leading through picturesque surroundings. Children have access to a playground, a Forest Rope Park, and the opportunity for field games. Particularly noteworthy are carriage rides around the area and close encounters with animals.
